Jupiter Charter Fishing Report

Deep sea fishing Jupiter Florida

"It's Sailfish Season in Jupiter"

When it comes to fishing, the southeast coast of Florida is known as the Sailfish capital of the world, specifically, the waters off Stuart, Jupiter and Palm Beach. Sailfish are migratory and follow the bait south when the fronts start pushing down the state, the breeze is out of the north and the temperatures are comfortable. Although they are "catch and release", there's nothing more exciting than to see than the acrobatics of a Sailfish after it hits the bait under a kite and takes off dancing and jumping across the surface of the water.

The typical season for Sailfish is November - May, but with the growing number of Sails in the local waters, we now catch them year-round. And even though we're targeting the Sails this time of year, we often catch large Mahi, Kingfish and even Wahoo on the kite bait.

On any given day, we're able to target the Sails just outside the ledge, usually in 150 - 250 feet of water. The ride out is quick and we're fishing within 30 minutes of clearing Jupiter inlet. Utilizing kites and Goggle Eyes is the most effective way to target Sailfish and first mate, John, is a pro at keeping the kites high and the baits in the strike zone. Because of catch and release, numbers of Sails caught each year have been strong and going up. After fronts come through, we often get multiple hook-ups and catch multiple Sails one each charter.

No matter whether you live here in Palm Beach or are visiting for a couple of days, you owe it to yourself to book a charter with us for that perfect day on the water. Book early, Sailfish season is usually our busiest time of the year.
